Since 2010 I've been meandering my way through the design industry. From holding down several jobs whilst I started freelancing, hot desking where I could as an in-house designer, to getting my break in some of Northern Ireland's largest creative agencies. I've made mistakes, crafted my own luck, taken risks and been present when opportunity has presented itself. Finding out what works along the way.
Frequently, I’ve found myself answering questions throughout my career on how to get started, how to deal with clients, price and navigate the creative process, often feeling underqualified to be the person answering them.
I’ve never been one for gatekeeping. Whether it’s just my nature or my belief that as creatives we should be collaborative, I've shared what I've learnt along the way, passing on the knowledge I’ve either gained or was given, hopefully making an impact on people's careers.
I've got first-hand experience of how hard it is taking that first step from freelancing here and there to full-time self-employment. I've watched my books fill up with projects, and equally clear in a heartbeat. Hopefully by sharing the pitfalls and lessons learnt along the way, I can help someone else build a successful — and importantly, sustainable — career.
Currently I'm looking to connect with creative people and share any nuggets of information that might help in their own journeys. If you fancy chewing the fat over a coffee, get in touch.

Who this is for
Designers thinking about going out on their own
Studio owners stuck on pricing, capacity, or how to actually run the thing day to day
Anyone trying to build something of their own outside a day job

How it works
No structure, no forms. Drop me a message, we'll grab a coffee (or a call, if you're not local), and talk through whatever's actually on your mind. If it's useful, we can check in again down the line — no pressure either way.
